6 Steps To Write Awesome Blog Post Titles In 2020
Do you know what is the value of a blog post title?
A blog post title is a sentence that describes the whole article of thousands of words. It tells the reader what your article is about and what kind of content is there. By reading a blog post title, the reader can decide to read or leave the article.
The Importance of a Good Blog Post Title
As I mentioned above, your title is the first impression to the reader, if it leaves a good impression, your article is more likely to be read. Every day, we do some search on Google by typing in the search bar. Does Google show articles on the result page?
Absolutely NO. Google shows the titles only.
That’s why it is so important to write a powerful and comprehensive title. The reader decides which article is the best and has a solution to their problem. If your king content is missing a king title, then it would not get clicks even if it is ranking on the 1st page of Google. Just because your title is not attracting the readers. For this reason, you need a king title for your king content to get clicks, get read and get shared.
Blog Post Title and SEO
Once again a good title comes to play a key role in your blog SEO.
The question is how?
Suppose your article is ranking at the bottom of the first page on Google for your main keyword. There are 4 to 5 results above your article. But those articles have poor titles. They are not getting clicks and users ignore them. By scrolling down, the user sees your powerful and comprehensive title. As a result, most readers click on your title. Google analysis all the process and say,
“oh, this article is awesome”.
As an award, Google ranks you higher than the first 5 articles. You may Ask-Why Google do this? Because Google wants to keep users happy. If users want your post at the top of the first page, Google will do it for its users. That is the role of a good title in your Blog’s SEO.
Creative Blog Post Titles: What Are They?
Creativity attracts us than anything else. Sometimes a creative title of a YouTube video gets hundreds and thousands of views just because of a creative title.
The trick is, I am going to tell you how to write a creative title and what it really is?
Let’s have a look at the definition:
A creative title is the number of words that tell the reader that you can apply the steps right now. The writer says what I am telling in the title is totally practical and this article will solve your problem. The article holds actionable tips. That is the quality of a creative blog post title. By reading a creative title, the reader feels that he or she can do what is being told in the title. The reader thinks, hey I can apply and start taking action right now.
But the real game starts here. It is about writing a title that has all those capabilities. And you are not alone. I am going to show you the most effective and simple ways that even new bloggers and writers can write an excellent title using these techniques.
Creative Blog Post Titles Features
The first and most important thing of a creative title is knowing the pain of the reader. I mean the problem that your reader has. Then describe it in the title. This is the most powerful trick that you can use to write a creative blog post title.
Good to know, a creative blog post title is at the same time catchy as well because it catches the reader and invites him to click on the title.
Describe The Reader In Your Title
After describing the problem of the reader, it is time to mention the reader as well. You can use age, passion, hobby, country, and time. Looks difficult, no problem, I am going to share some creative blog post title that will give you an idea of how it works.
Write Accurate Titles
The first and most important thing is writing an accurate title. A title that is not misleading. A title that tells the truth about your article. If your title is not matching your content. You are going to lose the trust of both users and Search Engines.
Writing a boring but accurate title is far better than giving false information to the users. Sometimes I search for a tutorial as we all do. And I find many tutorials that don’t come up with solutions that are claimed in the title. That’s not good. I will definitely not visit this web site again. Because I don’t trust it anymore.
You will also do the same. As a result, this kind of blog will lose visitors. Losing a visitor is very bad for any website or blog. Keep this in mind! Write an accurate title with the right information. So your reader will visit your blog again and again!
Use Numbers
Using numbers in your title gives a kind of limit to the reader. This limit is about the time of reading and solution methods. Nowadays, most bloggers use a number at the beginning of the title. It is good but not necessary. You can add the date as well to your title. The date comes at the end of the title. For example, here are two blog post titles
1-How to make a successful blog.
2-How to make a successful blog in 2020.
The difference is clear. The second one shows that making a successful blog in 2020 is possible. Adding the date is assuring the reader that this article is up to date.
Use Brackets
What is the best place in a title to use brackets?
It actually depends on the content of your article. For me, the best place to use a bracket is the end of your title. I recommend you to use it there.
The bracket tells the reader why this article is different from the rest. It is important to use a bracket around important words of your title. Such as (2020) (updated) (women) (week). Here are two example titles with bracket and without bracket.
1-How to lose weight in less than two months
2-How to lose weight in less than 2 months -(women)
Which one is better?
For me, the second one is more specific as it creates an interest in the article for women.
Blog Post Title Length
If you describe your article in a short sentence then it will be more powerful. However, it is not necessary to keep it short anyway. The best blog post titles length is under 60 characters because it shows up in the search engines. So a reader can read it completely. On the other side, a long title is not going to be shown because Google has a limit for characters. Your efforts will not be visible to the readers, so it is good to write a short title.
My suggestion is to write according to the Google limit. But, this does not mean that a long title can not be catchy. You can write a long title that is completely catchy and attractive. For social media, you can use a separate title that can be lengthy as well. Because Facebook and Twitter show the complete title on the post, it becomes easy to read it.
Bonus tip: Write the title of your article on an image and share it on social media. It works great and looks beautiful and attractive. Social media is all about images and videos. That’s why using images can get you great results there.
Write Multiple Blog Post Titles
This method works great for me. It is very simple. It gives me many options to choose from. Simply write down 5 titles for your article and select one of them. I am going to show you how to do exactly the same. Below I am writing 5 titles for my article about
“How to Sell your Car?”
1-How to sell your car?
2-sell your car quickly
3-5 steps to convert your car into cash
4-Best way to sell your car in 2020
5-Quickest way to sell your car (within a Month)
Here you go. There are 5 best titles. You can choose one of them. You can merge two in 1 as well. Just like this one
5 steps to sell your car quickly in 2020.
This method is the easiest simplest and quickest one. There is nothing complicated. You don’t need to do lots of hard work to write a super catchy title. Just apply these rules and your title will be ready in 5 to 10 minutes.
Analyze Your Blog Post Titles
You can analyze your title online as well. Just go to the AM Institute website and type your title. They will show the EMV score of your title.
According to AM Institute, “most professional copywriters’ titles will have 30%-40% EMV Words in their titles, while the most gifted copywriters will have 50%-75% EMV words in titles.”
Now I will copy a title from the 5 examples and paste it in AM Institute analyzer.
Amazing! I am scoring 50% of EMV. This is awesome!
